Frequently asked questions

I can’t sign in to my plan.

Confirm your email and password are correct and that the device is online for the one-time check. Email us if it persists and we’ll help right away.

I forgot my passphrase.

Your passphrase encrypts everything and is never stored or sent to us, so we can’t recover it — and neither can anyone else. This is what keeps your records private. Restore from a backup made under a passphrase you still have.

How many computers can I use?

Free and Starter are for a single computer. Premium adds multi-device so you can use your encrypted database across more than one of your own machines.

I want to move to another computer.

Export an encrypted backup on the old computer and restore it on the new one, then sign in to your plan.

My computer broke.

Restore from your most recent encrypted backup on a new machine and sign in again. (This is why regular backups matter.)

I reinstalled my computer — what about my data?

Reinstall Client Builder Pro Notes, restore your encrypted backup, and sign in. Without a backup, records can’t be recovered, since everything lives only on your machine.

Is my employee data ever uploaded?

No. Records and the on-device AI stay on your computer. The network is used only for license checks and updates — never for record data.
