🔒 Installs under the discreet name “CB Notes” — nothing on your screen tells your staff you keep records.
Download the installer for your OS. On macOS, open the .dmg and drag CB Notes to Applications. On Windows, run the .exe and follow the short setup. On first launch you set a passphrase that encrypts everything. (The app installs under the short name “CB Notes.”)
On recent macOS (Sequoia), open System Settings → Privacy & Security, find the note about CB Notes, and click “Open Anyway,” then confirm. (On older macOS, right-click the app and choose “Open.”) The warning appears for newly released, not-yet-notarized builds and does not indicate a problem.
On Windows, click “More info,” then “Run anyway.” SmartScreen shows this for newly released installers that haven’t been downloaded widely yet; it does not indicate a problem. CB Notes installs the same way after that.
On purpose. Client Builder Pro Notes installs under the short, discreet name “CB Notes,” so nothing on your taskbar, Start menu, or window title tells your staff you keep separate records. It’s the same app — just a low-profile name.
No. All employee records are stored only on your computer, encrypted with AES-256. They are never sent to external servers.

Your passphrase is never stored or sent to us. If it’s lost, your encrypted data cannot be recovered — so keep it somewhere safe.
Automatic periodic backups run in the background, and you can also export a manual encrypted backup to move to another computer.
